FEE Seminars – Malta and Gozo

The annual FEE Seminars (EkoSkola, YRE and LEAF) were held on the 22nd November 2013 and 25th  November 2013 in Gozo and Malta respectively.  The teachers and students attended separate workshops on the use of IT in relation to sustainable development programmes, The Litter Less Campaign and LEAF. During the Gozo seminar, awarded schools were presented with the Green Flag by Hon. Five more turtles released by students!

November 13, 2013

A 100 students participating in the EkoSkola and YRE Programmes run by Nature Trust (Malta) today released 5 more turtles at the Blue Flag beach of Paradise Bay, Cirkewwa.  Spartacus, Ricardo, Rosy, Kiko and Bizu are five loggerhead turtles of the species Carretta carretta that have been rescued from around the Maltese islands and have been in rehabilitation for the past four months at Fort San Luċjan. Presentation of Plaque to His Excellency Dr George Abela

A number of schools participating in the EkoSkola programme, last year paid a visit to HE the President of the Republic of Malta to perform an environmental audit of San Anton Palace and the Kitchen Garden under an invitation from HE Dr G Abela.  Following this event, the EkoSkola committee members presented an Action Plan with a list of observations and recommendations for the consideration of the President.
